Moreton Bay Womens Shed
Moreton Bay Women’s Shed is a place for women to meet, make friendships, create and share their passions.
Workshops
Our members share with us what they would like to learn and we endeavour to provide for their interests. Crafts and art we explore are painting techniques, acrylic ink decorations, cupcake decoration, crafting paper clay, painting plant pots, making coil baskets with raffia, slow art and mosaics, and a whole lot more....
MORE INFOSocial Occasions
Opportunities for members to meet up drives the social program for Moreton Bay Women’s Shed. There is nothing like sharing a meal or a cuppa to start conversations, find common interests and have fun together....
MORE INFOBringing Women Together
What Does Our Women's Shed Offer
We offer women from all walks of life, life experiences and stages of life, the opportunity to meet other women, make friends and participate.
Where Do We Meet?
At our Shed and other local venues
How Often Do We Meet?
We have a busy monthly schedule with regular activities and workshops at the Shed or social events at venues around City of Moreton Bay. Check out our calendar.
I Don’t Do Crafts. What Can I Do?
Please come along anyway and meet up with other members. You don’t need to craft; there is always interesting conversation in which you can participate or you can just listen and enjoy the company. If it turns out you’d like to craft, just ask and someone will volunteer to show you.
Everyone has something to gain or contribute by just coming along. We will welcome you and introduce you to others and make you feel at home.
Is It Just For Women?
We have found that our members enjoy time mixing and participating with other women.
We are unable to have children involved in our activities due to volunteer accident insurance and Child Safety requirements in Queensland.
On occasion, partners or other men join us to assist with projects, but this is by prior arrangement only.
What If I Am Not Retired – How Will I Fit In?
We understand that women in all stages of their life would enjoy the opportunity of being part of a Women’s Shed. Our most popular get-together – Create or Chat – is held during the working week and on Sundays. We would be happy to offer an evening Create or Chat if there is enough interest.
Our workshops have always been on weekends but we are now experimenting with offering workshops on a week day. With enough interest, we would offer the workshop again on a weekend.
Our social events are held on evenings, weekends and currently once a month during the week. We encourage those who are working to join in when they have time.
