The Moreton Bay Women’s Shed has its home on the Pine Rivers Showgrounds at Lawnton, in the City of Moreton Bay.
There are regular activities at the Shed every Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday and on other days throughout the month.
Workshops to learn craft techniques are offered each month.
Every week, there are social events at the Shed and other venues in the City of Moreton Bay.
Moreton Bay Women’s Shed encourages and supports women to meet, to make acquaintances and to find friends.

History
The idea of a ‘Women’s Shed’ was floated by Jen Murray in early April 2022. It was at the end of the two year period of lock-down and isolation in Queensland, brought about by the Covid epidemic.
The Facts
Moreton Bay Women’s Shed Inc. (MBWS) operates as a not-for-profit community organisation and is an incorporated association in Queensland. Incorporation was approved on 10 June 2022.
MBWS has a Constitution which sets out rules for how the Shed carries out its obligations under the Queensland Association Incorporated Act 1981.
A Code of Conduct has been developed for our members. There is a dispute resolution process in place, should it be required.
Moreton Bay Women’s Shed Inc. has also been issued with an Australian Business Register Number (ABN) by the Australian Taxation Office.
Moreton Bay Women’s Shed is recognised by the Australian Men’s Shed Association (AMSA) by their By-Laws of Membership as a Non-Shed Auxiliary and has been provided with a subscription arrangement in respect of Public and Products Liability, Volunteer Workers’ Personal Accident, Association Liability and Property Insurance.
The Shed
The Moreton Bay Women’s Shed is currently our home and is the place where we meet. The Shed can be found on the grounds of Pine Rivers Showgrounds, 757 Gympie Road, Lawnton, Queensland.
You will find the Shed on the opposite side of the show ring to the front gate, next to the Jack Page Poultry Pavilion.
There is a large covered outdoor area between the poultry pavilion and the Shed to which we have access as well.
The Pine Rivers Agriculture, Horticulture and Industry Association Inc (PRAH & I) offered Moreton Bay Women’s Shed a hire agreement for this building from 1 August 2022. The hire agreement is renewed annually by agreement.
