Big Day Out Bus Trip to the Scenic Rim

Bus trip to the scenic rim group

Bright and early on a Saturday morning, July 1st, a full busload of eleven keen women set off on a big day trip with the first destination being Warwick, QLD.

We made it to Yamanto before stopping for coffee and then continuing on our way.

We arrived at Gardens Galore:  a unique, one stop shop of sorts that has a café as well as selling homewares, women’s fashion and plants and garden art.

We all had a lovely breakfast that was sprinkled with edible flowers, even if for some the eggs were cold.

No worries, after some retail therapy we then set off back to Aratula to participate in the Scenic Rim Winter Harvest Festival at the Sports Centre.

What a terrific smorgasbord of delights!  Fresh fruit and veg, carrot fudge and ice cream, prepared tucker sachets and, of course, the ever popular flavoured gins.  We had a lovely time!

Last, but not least was a short trip down the country roads to the Scenic Rim Farm Café and Elderflower Farms for afternoon tea.

The winter flowers were in bloom and the giant jacaranda tree was the centre of attention.  In the little shop we found tea, coffee, and cakes as well as flower bouquets and the now famous sign –  The Shed.

A grand day out indeed!
