On Saturday 27 June, Moreton Bay Women’s Shed participated as a fundraising organisation for the Biggest Morning Tea Cancer Council Fundraiser.
Every dollar raised through the Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea helps fund the Cancer Council’s life-saving research, prevention, support programs and information services.
The MBWS members who volunteered to organise the event, set a target to raise $300. There were 38 attendees at the Biggest Morning Tea.
Raffle tickets were on sale with wonderful items generously donated by local businesses. Online donations were also received.
In total, the fundraising target was achieved and more than doubled. A total of $780.50 was forwarded by MBWS to the Cancer Council.
Members enjoyed cooking, getting together to set up, clean up and running the raffle on the day. Their efforts all contributed to the success of the Biggest Morning Tea fundraiser.
The Biggest Morning Tea will be back in the MBWS calendar for 2024.
